Process Management Support - Create and Manage Process Templates

Process templates are predefined processes that may be executed when necessary. A process manager may build a process with role-based steps and dependencies and begin the process manually.

Process templates are created to increase completion efficiency for events or activties that have a start and a finish, but are repeated within a particular business model, as opposed to a project that has a unique set of activities. Creating a process template one time that can be utilized multiple times is the quick and efficient way to ensure completion of key business activities.

Creating a New Process Template

  1. Hover over "Business Management Tools"
  2. Hover over "Process Management" in the menu, and then click on "Manage Process Templates" in the submenu.
  3. Click on "Create Process Template"
  4. To create a brand new process template, enter the name of the entity, select status and plan type and enter any description notes as needed to describe or enhance the entry.

    Note: To create a new process template based on an existing process template, choose the existing process template from the drop-down menu, and then make any modifications as needed. A new process template will be created while the original process template will remain in its original form.
  5. Click "Submit".

Your new process template is now created. 

Data Sections

  • Status - For new processes, select "active" or "inactive" in the drop-down menu
  • Plan Type - For new processes, select ether "Forward" or "Reverse" from the drop-down menu. Select "Forward" when the process will be tracked from a begining date. Select "Reverse" when the process will be based on an end date.
